Table 1 Inclusion criteria for school selection

1. Co-educational (girls and boys studying in the same school)

2. Offer grades 1–10 (approx. Ages 6–17 years)

3. No ongoing water, sanitation, or menstrual hygiene program or intervention by other organisations

4. Presence of functional toilet(s) on-site

5. At least one male and one female teacher
