  1. aComplete case analysis (n = 1329 in each model): men who met the inclusion criteria (Fig. 1) and who had at least two valid hours of wear time in each period of the day (morning 7:00-12:59, afternoon 13:00-18:59, evening 19:00-22:59). A valid hour is defined as an hour with ≥45 min of wear time
  2. bA Rate Ratio (RR) is a multiplicative factor. Compared to the reference category of each explanatory variable, any deviation from 1 indicates a change in percent of time spent in MVPA and a value < 1 indicates a decrease in MVPA (e.g. RR = 0.91 means a decrease in MVPA by a factor of 0.91 compared to the reference, that is about 10 %). Model 1 and 2 are negative binomial multilevel regression models mutually adjusted for season of accelerometer wear, region of residence plus all the explanatory variables in the table
