  2. *** Calculated based on methods used in the DUIT intervention [38], comprised of the following: receptive needle sharing, sharing a cooker, cotton filter, or rinse water to prepare drugs for injection after someone else had used it, and using a used syringe to divide drugs. The score was constructed by calculating the average between the responses to these five injection risk indicators (1 = never, 2 = sometimes, 3 = about half the time, 4 = often, and 5 = always), with higher scores representing higher risk.
