Model 1 is the baseline specification which controls for income level, educational level, marital status, age, work status, ethnicity, drinking status. While model 2 includes additional covariates: individual's health status, number of chronic conditions and provincial fixed effects. In addition to model 2, occupational fixed effects are included in model 3. All estimations are weighted using the sample weight available in the NPHS. Data source: Statistics Canada NPHS, wave 4(2000) to wave 8(2008)
