In this case 1 = the respondent lives with 1 child. 2 = the respondent lives with 1 child and 1 other adult (e.g. partner) or with 2 children. 3 = the respondent lives with 1 to 3 children (if 2 children, then 1 adult or if 1 child, then 2 adults, …
