Estimates of underweight, normal weight and overweight adults by sex and year in Bihar, India using the age-specific estimates of BMI from the NCDRI Study and population estimates from the 2011 Census of India. BMI was calculated as weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters, and it was further categorized as: underweight (< 18.5 kg/m2), normal weight (18.5–25.0 kg/m2) and overweight (≥ 25.0 kg/m2). The age and sex-specific estimates BMI obtained from the NCDRI Study were applied to projected population estimates for 2021 and 2036 using data from the 2011 Census of India Population Projections for India and States 2011–2036 Report [10]
