Estimates of hypertension by sex and year for Bihar India using the age-specific estimates of hypertension from the NCDRI Study and population estimates from the 2011 Census of India. Hypertension was defined as a SBP ≥ 140 mmHg or DBP ≥ 90 mmHg at baseline or participants reported receiving blood pressure-lowering medication. The age and sex-specific estimates of hypertension obtained from the NCDRI Study were applied to projected population estimates for 2021 and 2036 using data from the 2011 Census of India Population Projections for India and States 2011–2036 Report [10]
