Prevalence of HIV Stigma levels among sexually active men and women by regions in Ethiopia, 2016 EDHS. Note on proportional odds assumption. We followed the procedure of Donald Hedeker [28]. To test the proportional odds assumption, we proceed by additionally estimating a model that relaxes this assumption. The idea behind this is that we compare the model that assumes proportional odds to the model that relaxes this assumption. If the latter fits the data (statistically) better, then the assumption of proportional odds is rejected. Comparing the deviance statistics, we obtain a likelihood-ratio. LR chi2(1) = -23,932.03; Prob > chi2 = 1.0000, which is not statistically significant. Thus, the proportional odds assumption is not rejected for these data
