Number of states that made high-risk groups eligible for COVID-19 vaccination (December 20, 2020 – April 20, 2021). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended that COVID-19 vaccines be allocated to frontline essential workers, such as grocery store workers, prior to persons aged 65-74 years and simultaneously with persons aged 75 + years. No states followed this policy recommendation
