Timeseries of referrals to DVA services as a 7-day rolling average over the period April 2017 to September 2020. The solid vertical lines represent the start and end of the first national lockdown due to COVID-19 transmission in 2020. We observe a large decline in the number of referrals during the first national lockdown and a slower increase after the relaxing of the lockdown measures. There is also an observed decline in referrals during the schools holidays in 2019, but this decline is smaller than during the first national lockdown
