The following formula is used to obtain probability of hospitalization by age for those not having chronic condition c: \(p_{a} (hospitalization|noc)=1+\left [1-\frac {p(hospitalization|c))}{p(hospitalization|noc)}\right ]*p_{a} (hospitalization|COVID) *scalefactor_{c,a}\). A chronic-condition-age specific scale factor is included in the equation for adjustments in the probabilities that culminate in replication of the reported cumulative hospitalization rate. The following formula is used to obtain probability of hospitalization by age for those having chronic condition c: \(p_{a} (hospitalization|c)=p_{a} (hospitalization|noc)*\frac {p(hospitalization|c))}{p(hospitalization|noc)}\)
