The relationship between the height of the epidemic peak and how an individual finds out about symptomatic contacts when the Social Construction Effect is weak (< 0.3) for an Awareness Effect of 0.1 plotted separately for each of the nine multiplex networks used in the study. Networks 1-3 have no homophily in either layer, networks 4-6 have homophily in both layers and networks 7-9 have homophily in the communication layer only. In networks 1, 4 and 7 both layers have a relative modularity of 0.4, in networks 2, 5 and 8 both layers have a relative modularity of 0.6, and in networks 3, 6 and 9 the relative modularity of the infection layer is 0.6 and the relative modularity of the communication layer is 0.4.
