Three themes (black boxes) were identified in thematic analysis as causes of concern. As indicated by dotted lines, the themes were not always mutually exclusive. However, one theme could be a predominant cause of concern. Causes of concern also appeared to recur and their persisience implicated in the absence of mitigating measures. As an example, participants were concerned in the immediate present about not having any money to be able to provide for the family. In the absence of financial buffers such as savings, this concern was also projected into the imminent future
