Table 1 Assessment criteria for physically inactive

Three or more days of vigorous activity of at least 20 min per day, OR

Moderate-intensity aerobic (endurance) physical activity for a minimum of 30 min on 5 days each weeka, OR

Five or more days of moderate-intensity activity or walking of at least 30 min per day, OR

Vigorous-intensity aerobic activity for a minimum of 20 min on 3 days each weekb, OR

Five or more days of any combination of walking, moderate-intensity or vigorous intensity activities achieving a minimum of at least 600 MET-minutes per week

Combinations of moderate- and vigorous-intensity activity, which meet the recommendation mentioned above*, AND

 

At least twice each week strength-based activities using the major muscles of the body in order to maintain or increase muscular strength and endurance**
