  1. aThere were 25,104 people aged 45-64 years in the concatenated SDAC 2003 and 2009 data. Of these, 18,075 people were identified as being in one of the labour force categories listed in Table 1. A further 5827 were unemployed or not in the labour force due to reasons other than ill-health, and 1202 were not in the labour force due to ill-health with conditions other than arthritis as the main condition. The total number of survey records was 24,253. The weighted population was 5,945,000 in 2015; 6,374,000 in 2020; 6,677,000 in 2025; and 7,130,000 in 2030
