Inclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria

Permanent employment

No permanent employment or retirement within the time span of the study (2 years)

Male or female, age ≤ 56 years

Age > 56 years

LBPa during last week ≥35 mm with Visual Analogue Scale

LBPa during last week< 35 mm with Visual Analogue Scale

At least one of the following criteria is fulfilled during the last 12 months:

Presence of any of the following conditions: pregnancy, acute nerve root compression symptoms, suspicion of a malignant tumour, recent fracture or severe osteoporosis or any other specific disease that might prevent participation in the follow- up

 1. “Sciatica” - LBP that has radiated below the knee level

 2. “Prolongation” - LBP that prolonged for two weeks or more

 3. “Recurrency” - LBP has recurred two times or more

 4. “Work absence” - LBP related sickness absence
