Measure

Description & purpose

Hypothesis

Actions for safety and wellbeing

weave service use & activities questionnaire (modified)a

These questions drawn from the weave study [11] ask women what activities or services she has used over the past 6 months. If she answers ‘yes’ to any items, a second question drops down asking whether it was helpful (yes/no).

A higher mean number of actions for safety and wellbeing that are helpful than the comparison group, at 6 months post-baseline.

Self-care activities questionnaire1

These questions are a modified list of self-care activities derived from the Diamond study on depression [36]. Women are asked if they have started doing, or increased the frequency, of any of the listed self-care activities. If she answers ‘yes’ to any items, a second question drops down asking whether it was helpful (yes/no).

Fear of partner

Visual Analogue scale 0-100

The participant will be asked to rate their current level of fear of their partner or ex-partner, on a sliding scale from 0 (not at all afraid) to 10 (very afraid).

A lower mean fearfulness score than the comparison group, as measured on a visual analogue scale of current level of fear of partner (0–100), at 12 months post-baseline
