Regional disparities in treatment performance in patients with chronic hepatitis C treated by peginterferon-α and ribavirin (P/R). As for the rates of treatment accomplishment, the average of the P/R-treated cohort was 82.8 %, and was higher than the average in five regions (Kanto, Hokuriku, Tokai, Chugoku, and Kyushu), and lower than average in the other four. The rates of treatment accomplishment differed significantly among the nine regions (P = 0.009)
