1a – Life expectancy in years, with and without (a) disability a , (b) disease b , and (c) co-morbidity c , for men and women aged 60 years and over in seven cities in Latin America and the Caribbean. aDisability was defined as difficulty with at least one of the six ADL activities (dressing, eating, bathing, walking across a room, getting into/out of bed and using the toilet). bDisease was defined as presence of at least one, and cCo-morbidity was defined as presence of at least two, of the seven self-reported chronic diseases or conditions (heart problems, cancer, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, or chronic lung disease).
