Fine particulate levels (PM2.5, μg/m3) at a Wellington bar/restaurant – outside the venue, in the "outdoor" smoking area, and then indoors (a non-smoking area). This bar/restaurant was purposefully selected as it had a semi-enclosed "outdoor" smoking area that was unlikely to be substantially influenced by ambient wind and had a high number of cigarettes being smoked at the three observation time points (mean = 11, range = 6–20). Indoor air quality was relatively poor in this venue compared to the mean results in Table 1. This may have been due to SHS movement into the indoor area, high candle numbers and the open connection to a kitchen area.
