  1. *Variance in housing quality index measures socioeconomic diversity within each study site; sites with a lower variation in housing quality (a measure of socioeconomic status) among respondents will have a lower diversity score. The same is true for variance in years of education for mothers: sites where mothers have little variation in years of education will have fewer points for diversity.
