  2. Main causes of death are according to Statistics Finland's 54-category short list of causes of death, which follows the ICD-10 classification. Cardiovascular causes refer to codes 27-30, Alcohol-related to code 41, Suicides to code 50, Other external to codes 42-49 and 51-54, and Other diseases to codes 1-26 and 31-40.
